Patient Care Technician Highlights

With training as a Patient Care Technician, students will be able to work in a variety of healthcare settings such as hospitals, long-term care facilities, home health care agencies, and doctors’ offices. The Patient Care Technician program combines training in Certified Nursing Assistant, EKG Technician, and Phlebotomy Technician courses. Upon completion of this program, students will be eligible to take the Certified Patient Technician/Assistant exam offered through NHA and earn the designation of CPCT/A.

Students will rotate through hospitals, medical and diagnostic laboratories, and clinics for practical experience in EKG and cardiac monitoring. Students will be required to comply with regulations required by off-campus clinical sites, which include a background check, drug screening, provide proof of required immunizations, COVID-19 vaccinations/exemptions, etc.

Upon meeting all requirements for graduation, students will receive a certificate and be able to apply for National Testing. A certificate of completion will not be granted unless fees are paid in its entirety.
